What affects the price?
Heavier chains take more solder and bench time than delicate ones, and gold costs more to work than silver. Hollow chains are the trickiest. Their thin walls collapse under heat, so they need an experienced hand. Clasp replacements include the new part, which varies by size and metal.

Can a broken gold chain be repaired?
Almost always, yes. A clean break at a single link is a straightforward solder job and is usually done the same day. Even chains that have broken in several places can normally be saved. Bring it in and we will give you an honest estimate before we start.
Can a box chain or rope chain be repaired?
Yes. Box chains and rope chains are trickier than a simple cable link because the weave has to be rebuilt so the repair does not show, but both are routinely repairable. Herringbone is the hardest. Once it has kinked badly the damage often cannot be fully hidden, and we will tell you honestly if that is the case with yours.
Can a silver chain be repaired?
Yes, and silver is usually the least expensive metal to repair. Sterling silver solders cleanly. Very fine or hollow silver chains take a lighter touch, but they are still repairable in most cases.
